Dodge City First Assembly of God, 2301 N. 14th Ave., will be hosting its annual Friends ‘N Family Day and Pig Roast this coming Sunday, August 17th.

I jokingly tell people that I look at the obituaries to make sure I am not listed.  In fact, I look to see if someone I know has passed but also I notice the age of those who have passed.  When I see someone who is 70, 80 or 90 I assume they have had a good long life, raised a family, retired, and were ready.  But when I see that a young person has died, I wonder why.

Dodge City Lions Club
    The Dodge City Lions Club met at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 at Casey's Cowtown for its regular meeting.  The featured speakers was Charlie Meade.  He talked about some of his experiences as a deputy U.S. Marshal and as an ambassador of good will from Dodge City.
    The next meeting will be at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at Casey's Cowtown.

    Rod and Brenda Perkins will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Wed., Aug. 13, 2008.
